Halfway Houses get on their bikes!
Over thirty of Halfway's Yr 6 pupils completed their Bikeability training this term. The course was split over two days into two levels. The pupils training consisted of developing cycle handling skills in a traffic-free environment, making good and frequent observations, communicating intentions clearly to others and understanding priorities when negotiating a shared space.
All the participants completed level 1 and progressed onto level 2 where they continued their training on single lane roads with simple junctions and moderate traffic, giving a pupils a real-life cycling experience. All the pupils passed level 2 with flying colours!
The children took part with a real 'can do' attitude and this was remarked upon by the training staff.
Well done, we are very proud of you all!
