TILT purchases Clicker 8 software to support pupil's learning...
The Island Learning Trust have recently purchased Clicker 8 software (a child friendly word processor) for all of its schools: Minster in Sheppey, Sunny Bank and Halfway Houses. Clicker 8 can also be used free at home for particular chilldren, agreed in conjunction with the school's SENDCo. Progress is already evident following its implementation and one Halfway Houses parent has kindly made a video to explain to others how to download it, which is shown on their website. Mum, Danielle Breaker explains:
"Jesse absolutely loves clicker 8 and we have found learning a lot easier. Jesse struggles with paper based learning, has always found learning on computers easier and has a better understanding of it.
It also helps that computer based learning is more interactive than paper based learning. Not only has it helped him understand the work more, he is also enjoying learning a lot more.
There are a huge variety of learning resources, over 2500 including English, Maths and Science. It allows you to filter by subject and age range so Jesse can learn at a comfortable level for him for the subjects he enjoys most, or even take extra time on the ones he is struggling with."
